Peter Waghome de Dunbretane was one of those appointed to treat for the ransom of David 11 in 1357 (Foedera, III, p. 365). Finlaw Waghorne was declared innocent of part in detention of King James III in Edinburgh Castle, 1482 (The Lennox, II, p. 123). Michael Waghome, witness in Glasgow, 1501 (Simon, 16) may be the Mychell Waghorn who contracted to cover the stalls of the queir of Glasgow in 1506 (REG,, p. 612). David Waghorne was owner of land in Glasgow, 1551 (Protocols, I). Usually explained as "horn-blower or trumpeter."
