John Whytefurd is mentioned in the will of Egidia Blair, Lady Row, in 1530 (ibid., I, p. 95), John Quhitefurde of that Ilk is a witness in 1553 (Protocols, I), and John Quhitefurde of Myltoune was charged with abiding from the raid of Lauder in 1558 (Trials, I, p. 404).
