WINEMARUS: Walter, son of Winemarus, a witness to Earl David's Inquisitio, c. 1124 (REC., p. 7). He was the son of Winemar the Fleming, a Buckinghamshire landowner of 1086 (Lipscomb, History of Bucks, IV, p. 165). See also under Hanesel. Johannes Winemer witnessed the gift of fifteen acres of Balmulinach (Balmerino) to the church of St. Andrews before 1225 (RPSA., p. 272), and a Winemer witnessed a charter by Countess Ada of land of Charel (Crail) (ibid., p. 208).
