Wimund, pretender to the Scottish crown, c. 1140., "scribe, monk, bishop, pirate, impostor, rebel, vassal, recluse, whose adventures read like a romance" (Bishop Forbes, S. Ninian, p. xlviii). William Wymondes sone rendered homage, 1296. His seal shows a fieur-de-lys, S' Will'i fil' Wimvn (Blair, II, p. 207,558). William Wymond, juror on inquisition at Peebles, 1304 (Bain, II, 1436).
