The first person who held this title was Yi Yin, who helped Shang Tang in establishing the Shang Dynasty. Other famous people who held this position include, Bo Jifu, also known as Yin Jifu. Bo Jifu was a renowned judge during Zhou Xuan Wang's reign. A number of judges who held this position, have descendents who decided to change their surnames to Yin.
