Some of the Zakharovs are descendants of an untitled Russian noble family, the coat of arms of which is in the fifth and eighth parts of the 'General Tombstone of the noble families of the Russian Empire. Among the famous owners of the surname are the architect Andreyan Dmitrievich Zakharov (1761-1811), who designed the building of the Admiralty in St. Petersburg, the cathedral in Kronstadt and the composer Vladimir Grigoryevich Zakharov (1901-1956), the musical director of the Pyatnitsky choir. Zakharyins - the Russian boyar clan of the XV — XVI centuries. By the beginning of the XVI century. divided into two branches: Zakharyin-Yakovlev and Zakharyin-Yuryev. From the latter went the Romanovs - the tsarist and imperial dynasty of Russia.
