The surname derives its meaning from two roots.
1. In time past the name Zelefack was the name of a 'strong man' with the variant Zaolefack. Which was later inherited with this meaning.
2. Before that all the variants take root meaning in the word fack or lefack, meaning 'twins'. From this perspective the name Zelefack and its other variants means 'one who looks on twins'.
The Bamileke tribe of the west region equally have almost same surname.
