The name Zurek means: Son of Zur, or: The little Zur.

Zurek. The house Schur (Szur), Zur), de (from) Zurek and Szur / Schur (Polish nobility), coat of arms Szur. Documented appearance in 1457. Nobilitierung by King Casimir of Poland.

From a letter of Baron Zurek with Sr. Highborn J. A. Jablonski in Lvov from the year 1742 shows that 'numerous barons from abroad, together with the nobility of Poland were all associated with any' Prerogative 'with it. But every 'battle-knight' (knightly born) is besides his rank also a 'Liber Bar', that is the free lord, and there was basically always the difference between the barons and the (ordinary) nobility. This is confirmed by Dlugosh, who spoke in each of his descriptions of the noble meetings or 'Sjeme' (nobility days), prelates, magnates, barons and (ordinary) nobles. '

The present (1742) polish 'szlachta - families' = aristocratic families in Pomerania and West Prussia derives to a large extent from the Polish knighthood at the times of the Crusaders, and explain to some extent the relations between the two (Western Crusaders and Szlachtizen), already exist longer. The ancient Szlachtageschlechter (noble families) usually led double family names; usually the Polish name and the so-called (often German) nickname. Every Slachtize is officially called differently in German tongue than in Polish language. This is due to the fact that the villages that belonged to the nobility possessed partly double names, the official German name and the Polish folk name. Depending on which village it was and which name it was, the owners who lived there were also mentioned. For example, a village in Polish was called Dombrowka, it was called in German Eichenau (place / village). So a noble owner of a village could call this name 'Dombrowski - Eichenau'. Despite the use and guidance of various coats of arms, the various sexes Lipinski formed a bandage or a house (Dom). So there is no talk here of a common origin, but of family relationships through marriages and concoctions. The genus Shur (Szur - Lipinski) was closest to the genus Vnuk - Lipinski or Szur - Lipinski, and also to the Prussian - Pomeranian Vnuk - Dombrovsky (grandson - von Eichenau).
