The Methodist Church which is also known as The Wesleyan Methodist Church (amaWeseli) arrived in Port Natal in 1841. In 1847 Reverend James Allison arrived in Ndaleni near Richmond Village with people mostly from Swaziland who were more than a thousand and built a Mission Station there. In 1850 he left his Mission Station with about a hundred families for Pietermaritzburg and together with his people raised funds to buy Andries Pretorius farm Welverdient which stretched from Willow Fontein to Zwartkop. Rev James Allison renamed it Edendale and built his own Mission Station there. After this Ndaleni proceeded to the Reverend and the head of the mission as the community expanded he was later the leader of that community. He built the teachers college known as Ndaleni Teachers' Training College which was one of the country's best colleges that existed. By then he was already the leader and the community have honoured him as by then the area was named after him. In 1960 during the ripe apartheid times after his death his elder great grandson Nduku decided to migrate towards the Southern Natal in Harding which borders Pondoland, Sotholand and Transkei. The other reason for migration was the fact that family practiced farming and had scores of livestock as well as to continue with crop farming. This where you find a concetration of Ndaleni clan. Sons of Ndaleni were Mkhetheka who gave birth to elder son Sihlinza, whom was the father to Nduku elder son and was the father to Xhamulana and he fathered Mfeketho and he fathered Ndukuzelanga. There were also other sons of Ndaleni who were siblings to the heirs of this generation.
